ANNOUNCEMENTS!

Share your Fruit Bounty! The Garden of Eating is a volunteer organization that delivers fresh local fruit and veggies to social agencies such as the food banks. Normally these agencies receive only canned and processed goods so that people who need wholesome fresh produce still do not have access. Have you got a fruit tree or vegetable patch in your back yard that bears too much produce for you alone? Volunteers from the Garden of Eating will come to your home and harvest all the excess fruit you don’t need and take it to these social agencies. Garden of Eating also needs volunteers to pick fruit. Or, they can help you start a ‘share program’ in your own neighbourhood. Email eatingniagara@gmail.com or for more info visit www.thegardenofeating-niagara.com

HST CLARIFICATION HST will now apply to estheticians, fitness, and holistic professional services such as therapeutic massage. These services were previously PST exempt. August 14-19, 2010 24th Annual World Congress on Illumination. Crystal Gateway Marriott Arlington, Virginia. Anniversary of the first Harmonic Convergence which took place August 15-18, 1987. Lightworkers from around the world will gather to form a mighty transformer of Light energy to raise the vibration and consciousness of Humanity.
Those of us who have the heart call to participate need to listen to our inner guidance and respond accordingly. If you have the heart call to travel to Arlington, Virginia to serve Humanity and all Life in this way, ask for assistance. The floodgates of Heaven will open to pave the way for you to attend this activity of Light. Be open, be receptive, and Trust.
However, if you do not have the heart call to be physically present in Washington, D. C., there will be other ways you can participate. Some may be inspired to travel to various sacred sites to anchor these patterns into Mother Earth's Crystal Grid System. Others will gather with groups in their own locations to weave their Light into this unified activity of Light. And still others will join in consciousness from the solitude of their own sanctuaries. All of these ways of participating are vital to the success of this Divine Mission. Listen to your heart and respond according to YOUR particular facet of this Divine Plan.

Hooked on Junk: Eating During Pregnancy By Jonny Bowden, Ph.D., CNS

What a woman eats while she's pregnant sets the stage for her children's health habits. When researchers at the Royal Veterinary College in the U.K. fed pregnant rats the equivalent of rat junk food, their babies were born craving the bad stuff. They ate twice as many calories as baby rats whose mothers weren't fed the junk food. (Researchers used rats in these studies because their reproductive systems are similar to those of humans.)
Moral of the story: When you're pregnant, you really are eating for two. If it's something you wouldn't feed to your baby, don't eat too much of it. What you eat - and don't eat - could make all the difference in your child's long-term health.

Dr. Jonny Bowden is a nationally known expert on weight loss, nutrition, and health. He is the author of ‘The Most Effective Natural Cures on Earth’

INSPIRATION

"The best way to create peace in the world is to create peace inside ourselves." Michael Moon

The Oh, F@#$! to OK Process by Mark Goulston

Something adverse and upsetting happens to you. Here's how it goes (starting with the lowest kind of response):
You react, saying, "Oh, F#@&! This is awful. I'm doomed! I can't handle this!"

But, if you recognize this reactive stage for what it is, it will be easier to rein in your emotions, and shift to a higher stage. Naming your emotion - "fear," for example - will help you step back from it a bit.

As you cool down and get distance on the situation you release. "Oh, Gawd!" you might say. "This is a huge mess. I'm stuck with cleaning it up. This always happens to me!" In this stage, you release; you let go of some of your anger.
You're still upset, but less fearful of the outcomes.

With some deep breaths and a little more distance, you can re-center. "Oh, Jeez! I can fix this, but it's not gonna be fun." You begin to get control of yourself, your thinking and your actions.

Next, you refocus. "Oh Well! I'm not gonna let his ruin my day/career/life/relationship.... This is what I can do right now to make it better.

Can you feel the drop in intensity? In this stage, you're accepting the reality as it is, and considering what you can do to deal with it.

Finally, you reengage. "OK! This happened. So be it. What now? What do I want? What are my best next steps?"
You relax, calm yourself and fully accept the situation. Then you envision what results you want to create, re-assess your current reality and take action that honours reality and moves you toward the results you want.

A key to this process is becoming conscious of each of these stages. When you can mentally identify each stage as it happens, it is easier to see it in the larger context, and then manage your emotional response by shifting to another stage. You can upshift from lower-level angry reactions to higher stages, changing your emotions as you progress. With practice, you can shift from a "panic" state into a "creating" state much quicker than you might have thought possible.

Practice, Practice, Practice! Practice may not make you perfect, but it'll make you better. And the road to great always runs through better. So take time to practice this approach.

Although, at first, it will be difficult to practice in the moment, you can, instead, review your game films. You can think back to a time where you reacted badly to something, or someone and then imagine working your way from the "Oh, F@#$" stage to the "Oh, Gawd!" "Oh, Jeez!" "Oh, well" and "OK" stages. Doing this with a number of previously difficult situations will help prepare you to act more appropriately should a similar event occur in the future.

So, if you want to be more creative than reactive, try this yourself. Practice, practice, practice! And watch your emotional
mastery grow.
