Share your Fruit Bounty! The Garden of Eating is a volunteer organization that delivers fresh local fruit and veggies to social agencies such as the food banks. Normally these agencies receive only canned and processed goods so that people who need wholesome fresh produce still do not have access. Have you got a fruit tree or vegetable patch in your back yard that bears too much produce for you alone? Volunteers from the Garden of Eating will come to your home and harvest all the excess fruit you don’t need and take it to these social agencies. Garden of Eating also needs volunteers to pick fruit. Or, they can help you start a ‘share program’ in your own neighbourhood. Email eatingniagara@gmail.com or for more info visit www.thegardenofeating-niagara.com

August 14-19, 2010 24th Annual World Congress on Illumination. Crystal Gateway Marriott Arlington, Virginia. Anniversary of the first Harmonic Convergence which took place August 15-18, 1987. Lightworkers from around the world will gather to form a mighty transformer of Light energy to raise the vibration and consciousness of Humanity. Those of us who have the heart call to participate need to listen to our inner guidance and respond accordingly. If you have the heart call to travel to Arlington, Virginia to serve Humanity and all Life in this way, ask for assistance. The floodgates of Heaven will open to pave the way for you to attend this activity of Light. Be open, be receptive, and Trust. However, if you do not have the heart call to be physically present in Washington, D. C., there will be other ways you can participate. Some may be inspired to travel to various sacred sites to anchor these patterns into Mother Earth's Crystal Grid System. Others will gather with groups in their own locations to weave their Light into this unified activity of Light. And still others will join in consciousness from the solitude of their own sanctuaries. All of these ways of participating are vital to the success of this Divine Mission. Listen to your heart and respond according to YOUR particular facet of this Divine Plan.

Are you drinking enough WATER?
Here are a few interesting facts about water….
• 70% of your body is water….70% of the earth is water • 75% of us are chronically dehydrated. Even MILD dehydration will slow down your metabolism by 3%. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page • In 37% of us, the thirst mechanism is so weak it is mistaken for hunger. One glass of water ended midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied at University of Washington • Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue • Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers • Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer • You lose about 3-4% of your body’s water daily through sweating, kidney function, tears, mucus, saliva, etc. Therefore, your required daily intake of water is about 3-4%% of your body weight. So, for instance, if you are 140 lbs, you need to drink 5.25 lbs, or about 84 oz (6-7 X 12 oz glasses) per day
The active ingredient in soda pop such as Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis. The carbonation in soft drinks depletes potassium, causing in lethargy, water retention, heart problems, starved cells, and in severe cases, thyroid problems
Do negative emotions affect your physical health, your happiness, your success? Dr. Nance MacLeod PhD, NMD
The concept of the power of intention is very popular right now. It seems everyone is intending to win the lottery or something even better. But, intention is not quite as simple as that. Many people live like robots, going to work each day, doing the same things. They come home, have a shot of brandy to suppress the stresses of the work day, then turn on the TV to watch news programs filled with disheartening information such as billions of gallons of oil killing millions of fish, birds and animals and destroying an entire eco system and the lives of honest working people.
Will positive thinking or the power of intention save this eco system? NO!
You may feel anger, frustration, anxiety, and sadness toward this catastrophe, and all other disasters that happen in this world. Even if you are living nowhere near a catastrophe it can still affect your health in negative ways. How? Your physical body responds to the way you think, feel, and act. This is often called the “mind/body connection.”
Thoughts are energy, and negative thoughts and emotions are just as powerful as positive thoughts and emotions. When you are stressed, anxious or upset, your body tries to tell you that something isn’t right. For example, high blood pressure, depression or a stomach ulcer might develop after a particularly stressful event, such as the death of a loved one. Why? Negativity that you carry in your mind weakens your body's immune system, making you more likely to get colds and other infections. Also, when you are feeling stressed, anxious or upset, you may not take care of your health as well as you should. You may not feel like exercising, eating nutritious foods or taking medicine or vitamins that your doctor prescribes. Abuse of food, alcohol, tobacco or other drugs may also become your way of coping. In life, everyone carries around hurts, fears, anger, frustration, sadness, grief, and inner secrets, to some degree. But, when you hold these emotions without processing or releasing them, you may find yourself getting sick, physically or mentally. You may not live life to the fullest. You may limit success both in business and in your personal life. You may become unable to connect with your love ones, your friends and yourself the way you should. You ay not live your passion or purpose, and you get to the end of your life feeling like you missed it. You may die with your music still in you.
What about positive thinking? My belief and experience is that positive thinking only suppresses negative emotions and pushes them deeper into your physical body. This creates more disappointment, frustration, anger and other negative emotions, which, in turn, creates sickness, pain, digestive issues and more. So, what can you do to help yourself eliminate these negative emotions? Pay attention to your thoughts, your state of mind, and the state of your health. Start reading books on how to release these negative emotions. Do some research on the internet. Go to the 'State of the Onion retreat' in September. That's where you can start peeling away the layers of your personal onion! Peeling the Onion is all about peeling away the built-up layers of your negative emotions. This includes inaccurate negative information about your self, unhealthy habits, early imprints, old hurts, and past failures. While peeling you will strip away psychological bulk, and as a bonus you can peel away layers of fat, look younger, feel great and become more successful.
